VIII Jornada Mundial de los Pobres

La Iglesia celebra el 17 de noviembre la VIII Jornada Mundial de los Pobres. El papa Francisco propone como lema de este año “La oración del pobre sube hasta Dios”. Este mismo día, el Santo Padre presidirá la celebración eucarística en la Basílica de San Pedro en el Vaticano, a la cual seguirá el tradicional almuerzo con algunos pobres en el Aula Pablo VI.

Peregrinación de la Cofradía de Montserrat a Marruecos

Del 8 al 11 de noviembre, unas 65 personas provenientes de Cataluña han realizado una peregrinación montserratina, con dos momentos centrales, en Tánger y Rabat, para entronizar sendas imágenes de la “Moreneta”.

La Cofradía de Montserrat, que celebró su octavo centenario el año pasado está formada por todos los creyentes que, teniendo como referencia el Santuario de Montserrat, cerca de Barcelona, se unen para anirmarse mutuamente en su peregrinación hacia Dios en esta vida, a través de la devoción mariana y la oración. Se trata de una experiencia de comunión en la oración entre los monjes y los peregrinos, tanto los que acuden a la Montaña Santa como los que, desde lejos, se sienten unidos al santuario.
De hecho, existen centros delegados de la Cofradía en todo el mundo y, en esta peregrinación se ha dado el primer paso para instituir una delegación en Tánger, en torno a la imagen entronizada en la Catedral de Tánger, el sábado 9 de noviembre, en el contexto de una misa a las 11h. Durante la celebración, cuatro personas presentes, de las 13 que han expresado su deseo de ser cofrades, han recibido la cédula como miembros de la Cofradía de Montserrat, con gran alegría de todos.
Al día siguiente, domingo 10, en Rabat, se realizó también una celebración similar en la casa de acogida Notre Dame de la Paiz y la Catedral de Rabat.

Durante la misa en la Catedral de Tánger, dedicada al Espíritu Santo y la Inmaculada Concepción, el rector del Santuario de Montserrat, P. Joan Maria Mayol, osb, puso de manifiesto la vinculación de la advocación mariana de la Inmaculada con el santuario montserratino. También expresó la gran alegría de poder entronizar una imagen cuyo origen está vinculado a la ciudad marroquí. De hecho, la imagen de la Moreneta que a partir de ahora se podrá venerar en la catedral fue bendecida en 1952 y da testimonio de la devoción de la colonia catalana presente en aquellas décadas en la ciudad marroquí, que ya en 1953 dedicó un hermoso altar a la Virgen en la iglesia del Sagrado Corazón, inscribiéndose entonces muchos de sus fieles en la Cofradía. “Hoy 9 de noviembre de 2024, en medio de la celebración del Milenario de la fundación del monasterio de Montserrat, engarzamos aquí en Tánger una anilla más en la historia de la piedad popular mariana de estas tierras que también tienen en el Santuario de Montserrat su casa”, dijo el P. Joan Maria Mayol.

Fr. Natale Fiumanó, rector de la catedral de Tánger, ha expresado también su convicción de que la devoción a la advocación de Montserrat y con la presencia de su imagen en el templo, podrá ayudarnos a los cristianos a vivir nuestro caminar tras los pasos de Jesús, acompañados por María.

Visita ad limina: momento de gracia y signo de comunión

Del 15 al 24 de noviembre tendrá lugar la Visita ad limina de Fr. Emilio Rocha, ofm, arzobispo de Tánger y los otros obispos de la región del Norte de África (CERNA), que incluye el encuentro con el papa Francisco.
¿Qué significa esta visita? Lo explica el mismo Fr. Emilio en una carta a los diocesanos, de acuerdo al derecho canónico y al significado más profundo que tiene este evento: se trata de «un momento de gracia y un signo de comunión»

Queridos hermanos, miembros de la Iglesia local de Tánger. Los obispos de la Conferencia Episcopal de la Región Norte de África (CERNA), que comprende las circunscripciones eclesiásticas existentes en Argelia, Libia, Marruecos y Túnez, hemos sido convocados por la Santa Sede para realizar la Visita ad limina Apostolorum entre los días 15 y 24 del presente mes de noviembre.

La Visita ad limina constituye un importante instrumento para afianzar la comunión entre las Iglesias particulares presentes en todo el mundo y la Sede de Pedro y aparece claramente determinada en el Código de Derecho Canónico en el capítulo II que trata sobre los Obispos, donde se prescribe en los cc. 399 y 400 que cada cinco años el obispo diocesano debe ir a Roma “para venerar los sepulcros de los apóstoles Pedro y Pablo y presentarse al Papa”.

La Visita comprende el encuentro con los Responsables de los diferentes dicasterios y departamentos que constituyen la Curia romana e incluye también un encuentro con el Santo Padre. No es una simple visita de cortesía, es un importante acontecimiento eclesial en el que se pone de manifiesto la responsabilidad pastoral de los obispos y su comunión jerárquica con el Papa. En la Visita ad Limina se promueve y se fortalece la comunión entre la Iglesia particular y la Sede Apostólica; en ella, partiendo del amplio informe que cada obispo hemos entregado previamente a la Curia romana compartimos nuestras preocupaciones y esperanzas, presentando los retos más significativos que percibimos en nuestras respectivas diócesis. Particularmente significativas son también las visitas y celebraciones que tienen lugar en las cuatro Basílicas patriarcales: S. Juan de Letrán, Santa María la Mayor, San Pedro del Vaticano y San Pablo Extramuros; son momentos fuertes de oración y expresión visible de nuestra comunión con la Iglesia universal.

La Visita ad Límina tiene una larga tradición eclesial; algunos sitúan su origen en la Carta que san Pablo dirige a los Gálatas, donde habla de su conversión adical y de la decisión tomada de evangelizar a los gentiles; en ese contexto afirma: “después…fui a Jerusalén para consultar a Cefas, y permanecí junto a él quince días…” (1,18); años después repetirá la misma visita: “transcurridos catorce años, subí otra vez a Jerusalén con Bernabé, llevando también a Tito. Subí por una revelación. Y les expuse el Evangelio que predico entre los gentiles, aunque en privado, a los más cualificados, no fuera que caminara o hubiera caminado en vano (2,1-2). A partir del siglo IV son numerosos los testimonios que hablan de la Visita de los obispos a Roma. El Concilio de Trento se ocupó de la cuestión, incluyéndola en el programa de reformas relacionadas con el ministerio pastoral de los obispos. Siglos después, durante el Concilio Vaticano I (1869-1870) los obispos vieron la necesidad de modificar el modo de llevar a cabo la Visita, adaptando el cuestionario previo que ha de enviarse a Roma a una sociedad y a una Iglesia en profunda transformación. Algo semejante sucederá tanto en la preparación como en la asamblea del Concilio Vaticano II (1962-1965). La última regulación data de 1975, durante el pontificado de S. Pablo VI, cuando se aprobó el decreto “Ad Romanan Ecclesiam”, en el que se insiste en su carácter de instrumento al servicio de la unidad y la comunión. Pero será S. Juan Pablo II, quien dará un estilo nuevo a la Visita ad Limina, potenciando el diálogo entre los obispos y la Curia romana sobre la problemática de las diócesis. Este impulso quedará recogido en el Directorio para la Visita ad Limina, publicado por la Congregación de los Obispos en 1988.

Conviene destacar que la Visita ad Limina se sustenta y pone de manifiesto dos principios eclesiológicos fundamentales:

– El primero la colegialidad: “Como San Pedro y los otros apóstoles constituyen, por voluntad del Señor, un único Colegio apostólico, de igual modo el Romano Pontífice, sucesor de Pedro, y los obispos, sucesores de los Apóstoles, están unidos entre sí” (LG 22); Entrevistarse oficialmente con el Papa y con sus colaboradores más inmediatos, dándoles cuenta de la diócesis expresa la comunión jerárquica con quien es Cabeza y principio visible de la unidad entre los obispos del mundo (Cfr. LG 23).

– El segundo la íntima relación entre la Iglesia particular y la Iglesia Universal. Por voluntad de Dios la Iglesia, que es única y universal, se refleja enteramente en las Iglesias particulares, que están “formadas a imagen de la Iglesia universal” (LG 23). Además la solicitud pastoral de cada obispo no se agota en su diócesis, se extiende hacia toda la Iglesia Universal.

Encomiendo a vuestra oración personal y comunitaria la Víisita ad Límina que los obispos de la CERNA nos disponemos a comenzar; pidamos al Señor que uno de sus frutos sea intensificar en todos nosotros, pastores y fieles, un amor activo y operante hacia la Iglesia extendida por todo el mundo, pero también un compromiso apostólico con la propia diócesis, y la comunión afectiva y efectiva con el papa Francisco; que las palabra de San Ambrosio de Milán “Ubi Petrus ibi Ecclesia”, (“Donde está Pedro allí está la Iglesia”) permanezcan firmemente grabadas en nuestra memoria y en nuestro corazón.

El Señor os bendiga y os guarde, os muestre su rostro y tenga misericordia de vosotros, vuelva su mirada hacia vosotros y os conceda la paz.

El mes de noviembre comienza recordando litúrgicamente a todos los santos y a los fieles difuntos. El 1 y 2 de noviembre son una llamada a la santidad en nuestra vida y a la oración por los que ya han fallecido.

En las diversas parroquias y centros de culto de la Archidiócesis de Tánger se han celebrado celebraciones por estas dos fiestas y también visitas a los cementerios de las diversas localidades, con momentos de oración por los fieles difuntos.

Reunión del Consejo Presbiteral

Hoy, día 31 de octubre, el conjunto de los sacerdotes, o presbíteros, de la Diócesis se ha reunido en torno a su pastor en la fraternidad franciscana de Tetuán. El Consejo Presbiteral es uno de los órganos constitutivos de toda diócesis, según el derecho canónico; es «como el senado del Obispo» y su misión «es ayudar al Obispo en el gobierno de la diócesis conforme a la norma del derecho, para proveer lo más posible al bien pastoral de la porción del pueblo de Dios que se le ha encomendado» (Codex Iuris Canonici, canon 495 § 1).

En la reunión de hoy, después de la oración inicial, los asistentes han compartido las experiencias pastorales de cada parroquia poniendo el énfasis en los retos de este nuevo año pastoral para cada una de ellas.

Después de otras informaciones por parte del arzobispo los miembros del clero han podido expresar sugerencias, impresiones, etc, sobre su vida sacerdotal y la vida diocesana.

Además, considerando que el Plan Diocesano de Pastoral es uno de los puntos fundamentales en nuestro caminar como Iglesia de Tánger, se han puesto sobre la mesa algunos puntos a destacar de este documento, que será aprobado de forma definitiva próximamente. Después de la oración final de la reunión, los sacerdotes han compartido una comida fraterna.

Un encuentro de amistad ecuménico

Ha sido precisamente esto lo que ha tenido lugar el jueves 24 de octubre, en la sede del obispado de Tánger. Como decía Mons. Emilio Rocha, ha sido “un encuentro entre bautizados en Cristo que desean trabajar por el Reino de Dios y viven en la tierra bendita de Marruecos”. En este encuentro han participado el sacerdote anglicano Chris Wingfield de la Iglesia Saint Andrew; el Pasteur Jean-Marie Kasongo de la Iglesia evangélica de Tánger; el pastor en formación Mitchelson Jean-Louis de la Iglesia de Martil-Tetuán; y los frailes párrocos: padre Natale Fiumanó ofm de la parroquia catedral de Tánger, padre Thaddée Musas Kapend ofm de la Asunción y Santa Juana de Arco de Tánger y, Jean-Baptiste Kashaba Makiro ofm, de Nuestra Señora de la Victorias de Tetúan, además del obispo Mons. Emilio Rocha Grande ofm también los miembros de la delegación de ecumenismo y diálogo interreligioso y de cultura y fe: Marithé Vuigner, Francisco Jiménez Maldonado y el padre Rolando Ruiz Durán sx.

El encuentro de amistad ha consistido en dos momentos: una oración que ha tenido lugar en la iglesia catedral de Tánger y una comida compartida. Hemos vivido nuestra amistad gratuita y recíproca, en un clima de fraternidad y fe. Además de la oración espontánea y enriquecedora, las palabras intercambiadas nos han hecho vivir en sintonía nuestra fe en Cristo y han vislumbrado la belleza de lo que Cristo quiere de nosotros “que todos sean uno, como tú Padre y yo somos uno”. Ciertamente la amistad procura alegría y esta alegría se expresa en la Paz del corazón y deseo de seguir a Cristo que nos invita a crear lazos fraternos para trabajar en favor del Reino de Dios.

Que el Señor Jesús nos inspire los pasos que tenemos que dar juntos y en amistad.

Esta es la última semana de este evento de la Iglesia universal, que concluirá con la misa de clausura del próximo domingo 27 de octubre. En el día de ayer, 21 de octubre, se presentó el borrador del Documento Final: un texto aún provisional que será enriquecido con el debate y el trabajo de discernimiento de esta última semana.

Desde el 30 de septiembre se está desarrollando la Segunda Sesión de la Asamblea Sinodal, casi un mes de trabajo que ha seguido un método concreto, con días de retiro, momentos de oración, sesiones de trabajo por grupos lingüísticos, etc, siempre con unas preguntas que han guiado el recorrido: ¿Cómo ser una Iglesia sinodal misionera? ¿Cómo puede la identidad del Pueblo de Dios sinodal en misión concretarse en las relaciones, itinerarios y lugares en los que se desarrolla la vida de la Iglesia?

Desde la Iglesia archidiocesana de Tánger no podemos dejar de recordar la sintonía entre el Sínodo y nuestro propio recorrido sinodal para la elaboración del Plan Diocesano Pastoral, marcado especialmente por la Asamblea Diocesana del pasado día 5 de octubre. De hecho, el cardenal Cristóbal López, sdb, arzobispo de Rabat y padre sinodal, representante de la CERNA, así lo recordó durante la rueda de prensa en la que intervino, el pasado día 4 de octubre.

Asilah: Las raíces del árbol que da nuevos brotes

Permítase este titular, un poco poético, que hace referencia al acto que tuvo lugar el pasado sábado 12 de octubre en la Parroquia de San Bartolomé de Asilah. A las 18h tuvo lugar la eucaristía, momento para la acción de gracias al Instituto de la Bienaventurada Virgen María – Congregación de Jesús y la bienvenida a las Misioneras del Señor de los Corazones y de Santa María de Guadalupe.

Durante la homilía, Fr. Emilio Rocha, ofm, arzobispo de Tánger, que presidía la celebración junto al párroco, Fr. Marko, aludió a la imagen del árbol y sus raíces: cuándo el árbol es grande, las raíces son fuertes. Esta metáfora sirve para expresar la obra caritativa y social de la Iglesia en esta ciudad que, a través del Instituto religioso IBVM ha trabajado notablemente por el empoderamiento de las mujeres, la atención y educación a los niños, jóvenes y la población local, en general, desde 1997. Ahora, la nueva comunidad religiosa que toma el relevo, no parte de cero, sino que viene a ser el florecer de nuevos brotes, al servicio de la comunidad cristiana del lugar y de la sociedad marroquí. Las nuevas religiosas, provenientes de México, se llaman Juliana Leonor Trujillo, Teresa Martínez y Luz del Carmen Velasco y estuvieron acompañadas en su llegada a Marruecos por la madre superiora general de la congregación, Ana Lidia Méndez; la vicaria general, Lidia Ortiz; y una madre consejera, Evencia González.

Esta despedida y bienvenida contó con la participación de los fieles de la parroquia, otros residentes de temporada en Asilah, representantes de todas las comunidades religiosas femeninas de la ciudad de Tánger, así como otras personas, provenientes de Ksar el Kebir, Martil, Nador e incluso Melilla.

María López de Haro, del Instituto de la Bienaventurada Virgen María, fundado por la inglesa Mary Ward, es la última representante de esta institución religiosa en Asilah, que ahora regresa a España, a la comunidad presente en Castilleja de la Cuesta (Sevilla). Las religiosas del consejo provincial del IBVM estuvieron presentes, compartiendo este momento especial que testimonia cómo las misiones pueden evolucionar y adaptarse, de tal manera que el trabajo iniciado por una comunidad puede continuar adelante bajo nuevas manos.

Unos días antes, el 9 de octubre, tuvo lugar una celebración de agradecimiento por parte de los voluntarios y trabajadores en la obra social presente en Asilah, que no resultó menos entrañable que la del sábado día 12. Así nos lo relata la misma María López de Haro:

La vida continúa…
A lo largo del mes de septiembre hemos venido preparando esta despedida y concretamente el miércoles 9 de octubre hemos celebrado una despedida con las personas más allegadas a la misión en Asilah; éramos un pequeño grupo de unos 35, formado por las personas que durante estos 27 años han hecho posible que nuestra misión se llevara a cabo tanto en lo educativo como en lo social: voluntariado de Asilah y de España, miembros de nuestra Fundación Kambia, y un grupo de religiosas del IBVM. Contamos igualmente con la presencia de Fray Emilio y de Fray Marko, nuestro nuevo párroco de San Bartolomé.
Se trató de un acto sencillo y familiar en el que toda posible solemnidad fue sustituida por una ocasión de hacer ‘memoria agradecida’ ante la historia de estos 27 años de encuentro de dos culturas muy distintas, entre unas religiosas convocadas por el arzobispo Monseñor Peteiro en 1997 y unas mujeres musulmanas con hambre de cultura y de promoción personal y laboral, así como un buen número de chicos jóvenes que se han beneficiado de las clases de informática y de idiomas…
Ante un mural con las imágenes de las religiosas que habían sido misionadas a Asilah, de una forma espontánea y no exenta de emoción, se fue desgranando la historia de estos años de encuentros, servicio, educación, apoyo, amistad… También se oyeron experiencias de crecimiento personal y de trabajo social, que ha evolucionado conforme existían nuevos retos.
El acto terminó en torno a una taza de té y unos dulces marroquíes preparados por el profesorado. Ha sido una despedida atípica, se oyó decir. Eso sí, impregnada de agradecimiento recíproco.

DOMUND 2024: Id e invitad a todos al banquete

El lema de este Domund, que se celebra el 20 de octubre 2024, nos lo ofrece el papa Francisco, inspirándose en la parábola del banquete de bodas. La misión es un “ir” incansable para invitar al mundo entero al banquete de la fraternidad, de la Eucaristía, de la reunión final con el Señor; una invitación hecha con el estilo de Cristo -con ternura, caridad y cercanía-, que es quien nos envía y al cual anunciamos. Porque la salvación que Jesús ha venido a traernos es para “todos, todos, todos” y, en especial, para los últimos, los lejanos, los excluidos.

Ecos positivos tras la Asamblea Diocesana

El sábado 5 de octubre más de ochenta personas de toda la Archidiócesis de Tánger se reunieron en Asamblea para discernir el propio camino como Iglesia en estas tierras, durante el próximo trienio. La Asamblea Diocesana ha sido una etapa más en el recorrido sinodal de elaboración del Plan Diocesano Pastoral, que se inició en octubre 2023.

Algunas impresiones de los participantes:

“En un día como hoy, se ha logrado experimentar la pertenencia a nuestra Iglesia diocesana. Ha sido algo muy positivo”, expresa una joven, agente pastoral en la ciudad de Tánger.
“Ha sido genial la idea de abrir el trabajo a la asamblea y me ha gustado mucho el proyecto, tal y como se ha presentado. Para el futuro, el Consejo Pastoral tendrá que definir el cronograma de prioridades, para ser más efectivos”, comenta un religioso trinitario de Alhucemas.
“Muy bien organizada. Además, se notaba el compromiso y el interés de todos por llevar a cabo nuestra misión en Marruecos. Y una gran valoración de la dimensión espiritual, tanto en el programa, con sus momentos de oración, como en las intervenciones de todos”. Este eco es de una religiosa de Nador.

Los participantes acudieron de casi todas las parroquias y comunidades del territorio, desde los más lejanos, de Nador, a la ciudad de Tánger, que acoge un gran numero de miembros de la comunidad cristiana. Se respiraba alegría por el reencuentro de laicos y consagrados, ya que en esta ocasión, no era una convocatoria sectorial (sólo de jóvenes, o sólo de religiosos y religiosas) sino de todo el Pueblo de Dios.

La jornada empezó con un momento de oración, para dejarse iluminar por el Espíritu Santo en los pasos a realizar como Iglesia diocesana. Las palabras iniciales de nuestro arzobispo, Fray Emilio Rocha Grande, ofm, permitieron además introducirse en el contenido del Plan Diocesano Pastoral, que se presentó a continuación.

El documento, bajo el título “Iglesia de Tánger: familia que acoge y peregrina en Marruecos” es fruto de las aportaciones de todas las comunidades cristianas a lo largo de los últimos meses, en un proceso participativo abierto, elaboradas por una comisión creada al efecto para organizar las ideas recogidas en objetivos, medios y acciones a realizar. Durante la Asamblea diocesana se expusieron los contenidos, se reflexionó en grupos y cada participante pudo expresar su opinión, en cuanto a elementos a conservar, a suprimir y a modificar.

La mañana concluyó con la eucaristía, momento para poner sobre el altar todas las aspiraciones de la diócesis y dar gracias a Dios por su llamada a peregrinar en estas tierras.

La comida fraternal permitió a los asistentes compartir impresiones, conversar e intercambiar puntos de vista y experiencias de cada lugar.

A la tarde, de nuevo reunidos en plenaria, el micro abierto dio la opción de expresar preguntas o comentarios al Plan Pastoral, así como transmitir algunas otras informaciones relevantes de la Iglesia local, como por ejemplo, la próxima renovación de la página web.

El proceso de discernimiento sobre el Plan Diocesano Pastoral continuará con la elaboración de toda la información recogida en la Asamblea, para realizar las oportunas modificaciones y temporizar las acciones a realizar, en función de las prioridades identificadas.
